Why Join

How we formed

The Lady Masters Association was formed in 2015 by women who were masters of livery companies in the City of London. As a minority and sometimes an oddity in the male-dominated world of high office in the livery, our founder members realised how valuable their friendship and experiences had become. They formed the association to share their knowledge and promote fellowship among women seeking and holding high office in the livery movement of the City of London.

Ten years on, there are more than 200 former lady masters and the numbers of female wardens and those on the path to being master are growing.

Our Purpose

The maintenance and promotion of fellowship among women who are members of the Association.
To inspire and support the next generation of livery leaders.
The support of charity.

The joining fee is £25 and the annual subscription from the following November also £25. We contact prospective members shortly after they are installed in office to invite them to join. Masterly Moments

‘Where else would you find such an extraordinary collection of women? Their experience and expertise covers art in the NHS, auction houses, digital art, accountancy, medicine and the law, not to mention running a marriage bureau and, of course, city livery companies.’

‘Dining at Mansion House in the presence of the King and Queen is a stand-out moment of my year.’

‘We work closely with charities who have long partnered with our company and a genuine highlight was getting to know some of the beneficiaries and hearing about the tangible difference charitable giving makes to their lives.’
